This is Katherine Moretti. She is a vampire. A young woman of Italian royalty, Katherine was childhood friends with Stefan and his brother, Damon, while they still lived in Italy.
Katherine caught both of the Romano brother's hearts and started a petty sibling rivalry between them. This wasn't to be taken lightly by Damon. Damon wanted Katherine in all her beauty. He said he would give up his life to be with her.
Stefan had different views than Damon. He wasn't posessive like Damon. He didn't make petty promises that he couldn't keep.
Katherine's father saw how Katherine had attracted two men of the Romano family and encouraged her to marry one of them. Frustrated by the brothers fighting over her and by her father forcing her to marry at such a young age (she was 15 at the time), Katherine told Stefan and Damon one day to meet her in the garden of her house. There, she would choose who she wanted to be with for the rest of her life.
Katherine arrived at the garden and told the Romano brothers that she had made her decision. She chose Damon.
Heartbroken, Stefan left to go back home. When he arrived home, Katherine's father was there with Katherine and Damon in his possession. Katherine's father had just been using his daughter to get to his most hated family, the Romanos. Katherine's father (let's just call him Alessandro) had a deep anger for the Romano family and wanted to kill them all. And he had used his own daughter to get to his needs. Alessandro wiped the Romano brothers' of Katherine and killed Stefan and Damon's mother, leaving their father in a coma. Of course, during all this, Alessandro had been wearing a mask and had hired a few "friends" of his. Katherine, angered that her father had done such a horrible thing to her and Stefan and Damon, tried to kill her father. She succeeded but only after Alessandro bit her, revealing his vampire status to her and therefore, turning her into a vampire.
Grief-stricken from their mother's death, Stefan and Damon left Italy with their Uncle Giles. They tried to remember what happened before their mother's death but barely got any memories in return. (Note: Stefan was 15 around this "Katherine era". Katherine herself was 15.)
6 years later, Stefan is now 21 and a member of Camp Brook; and Damon, himself, is 27 and a counselor. Unknown to them, Katherine has come to the camp, intent on finding the Romano brothers. She has secretly gotten into contact with Damon and has bitten him, turning him into a vampire also. This was before Damon returned to Camp Brook as a counselor (somewhere around the time that Damon was 23 and Katherine was 17, that she bit him).

Yes, I do realize that Nina Dobrev is already used. Hopefully, the person who is playing October (ALI!!~ XD) can make a compromise with me. Possibly the idea of Katherine being October's ancestor? :P Yes, I realize that this plot is VERRRRY MUCH like Vampire Diaries. Call me obsessed.
Oh, and also, I will be making Damon soon. <3
