i know it happens all the time, love
oh darling, i know that i'm not needed It was a warmish day, the sun beat down nearly heavy on the girl. She was never really one for sunny days; too bright, too hot, too... ugh. She liked cloudy days, and rainy days. Rain smelled nice, and clouds made everything seem to surreal. That's how it should be for her, surreal. She was half angel, half gifted. She wasn't even high up on the surreal-totem-pole, considering all the angels, and shifters, and demons that festered around her, but she guessed she was highest with the hybrids. Well, she kind of led them... so it only made sense... right? Maybe. Nothing made too much sense anymore, but it didn't really bother her. It wasn't like life had ever made an excess of sense to Delaney. She was raised in the forest, by an angel and a writer, she moved to the city and only made friends with cats and birds. Something was always strange about that.
Delaney did not like water. She wasn't aware what it was about it that made her keep coming back, didn't know why she couldn't resist it. But it was very easy for her to understand why it put her ill at ease. Oh, something to do with seeing your mother's dead body float on downriver, languid curls reveling in the current, like medusa's locks, when you were about six but a little bit of a damper on the whole "swimming" expierence. So she sat, fully clothed, by the bank, her toes close to the water, but not in it. Honestly, she loved the water. She just... didn't like to be in it. That was all.
fucking fail. that is all.

you wear your heart on your sleeve, I TOSSED MINE INTO THE SKY! It seemed as if Ash was nothing but giggles today. He had woken up feeling pretty happy, which was normal. It wasn't out of his personality to be all happy like that, since he was naturally a happy person. He woke up like he would any other day, too, on his bed, flat on his back with his little Papillon, Digby, lying on his chest and partially his stomach. He loved that little dog, he had ever since he had gotten him about..pretty close to a year now. The dog entertained him so much! like, this one time, Digby was just running around in circles, before he went and crashed into a wall. Sure, Ash had gotten a pretty good giggle out of it, but he felt really bad for laughing at his baby boy. Another thing about Ash was he probably cared alittle..too much. was that even possible? well, it was for Ash. Say you only had a small little papercut, Ash would feel terrible for you, and he'd take it into his own hands to make you feel better. So, being slap happy and cuddly wasn't unusual for little Ashley.
Giggling softly as he sat up, sending little Digby tumbling down to the ends of Ash's feet, he reached over and gave his puppy a stroke, smiling as he got up with a tired yawn. His legs felt wobbly underneath him, probably because he just slept for like..what seemed to be about forever. Walking on his rubber-like legs, Ash made his way to the little mirror he had hung up when he first got to the camp. Taking his beanie off his head, ( it was hard to find Ash without it, hell, he even slept in it) he quickly ran a hand through his hair before he replaced his hand with an actual brush. He liked the way brushing his hair felt, kinda like someone was running their hand gingerly through his hair. Since Ash was like...the definition of tickle-ish, it was hard for him not to giggle at most touches. Could you guess what he was doing right now? guessed it, the baby boy was giggling like no bitch had you even seen before.
" Digbaby!" , he called out his dog's nickname with enthusiasam. Reaching over and grabbing the dog's leash, he smiled widely as the Papillon rushed over, and Ash hooked his leash to his collar. " kaay, let's goo", he said with a giggle. Opening the cabin door, the boy walked out in his black skinny jeans, a blue vee-neck and of course, his cons, he made his way down to the lake. He didn't expect to see anyone there, he was just taking his dog for a walk, like he did every day. And every day, the two came down here, because it was kind of Obvious Digby enjoyed being down here. Maybe it was all those female dogs..yeaaah. He couldn't have smiled wider when he saw Dell. Ash walked over to her and sat next to her, Digby in his lap. Giggling, he reached down and gently splashed Dell with the smallest amout of water he could munster..afterall, he had an affinity for water, so it was hard for him not to just..dive right in! giggling again, he said softly.. "..splash" woah, fail post. sorrylove<3[/blockquote]

i know it happens all the time, love
oh darling, i know that i'm not needed Delaney wasn't very fond of people or things she didn't know so well. It was trust issues, but it wasn't like she'd had some life-altering thing to damage her trust. Maybe it was just a pathological fear. The other night (when she couldn't sleep, of course) she pulled out a pocket-sized dictionary her dad has sent her (because, being a writer, he thought that was more important than sending his daughter, ya'know, an actual letter), and went through all the words that started with "x"'s and "z"'s. Because... it was entertaining? Well, it helped her get to sleep, but not before she found the word xenophobia; an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange. And she guessed that's what she had, an unreasonable fear of strange things and people. Places didn't bother her so much, because there was always something familiar about the feel of a place, the nature and energy that she could feel pulsing in it that quieted her mind. But people were a different story.
So, she had been sitting on the bank, contemplating her current (if most nonexistent) social life when Ashley walked over. She felt Digby coming, at least, but she didn't really pay any notice. She'd kind of gotten used to pretending you couldn't feel things, she'd been labeled a freak too many times for her wide-eyed, confused stares that tended to show up. It wasn't her fault, it was her parents! But she kind of got over it after a while. The little papillon bounded over first, no doubt excited to see Dell, even if he never met her. Animals always tended to do that with her, they couldn't help it. She ran her fingers all over his body, twitching her fingers a little to scratch him. Wiggly little dog. Then Ash leaned down and splashed her. Splash. It sort of caught her by surprise though she should have seen it coming. She kind of flinched back, and sputtered, throwing her hands in front of her slightly. It was an overreaction. But then she smiled and laughed a bit. ' Hey. ' Kind of nonchalent. She turned her attention back to the dog, smiling and having to hold herself back from making little baby noises at the dog. ' Well, you must be the infamous little thing I've been hearing about, right? ' He could hear her, but she wasn't someone who could literally communicate with animals, so, if he had a reply, it fell short to her.
She gave him one last long stroke before she leaned back a little and let out a huge yawn. If you looked pretty close, you could see the matching dark circles under her eyes too. What she hadn't expected about camp was all the, well, nature. When you phrased it that way, it made her seem pretty silly, but it was the truth. Even when she lived in the woods in Utah, she'd still been pretty close to the city, and it watered down her powers a little, making her a little bit less aware. But here, so far from the chaos and rioting and upset in the world, it was so acute, the way that everything rained down on her. And the nature and animals took her energy without even meaning. The weird mix of her father's nature skills, and her mothers angelic attributes kind of made her this sacrifice to the natural world, the unspoiled parts. The modern and mundane side wanted nothing from her, even though people were naturally drawn to her. Her powers ran all the time, and she couldn't turn them off. So constantly, energy was just being drained from her. Pair that with a bout of insomnia, and you're bound to be a little sleepy.
yaay, kinda long. x) sorry that it's mainly filler, and not much for you to work with.
