WHEN THE NIGHT ALWAYS ENDS WITH A FIGHTI'M EXCITED THAT YOU WIND UP NEXT TO ME, DREAMT THAT YOU WERE ON A TRAIN. YOU WERE LEAVING grayson yawned widely, back arching against the tree trunk he was sat up against. he hadn't slept very well the night before, his body was restless due to the impending full moon, it was only a matter of days away and the effects were apparent within grayson. he yawned twice more in quick succession before the weariness felt staved, for the time being at least. grayson sat on his own somewhere in the woods. the trees were not close to one another in this particular and he knew for a fact there was a clearing about half a mile west, he knew that because it was where he changed the last time he was in this forest. grayson hadn't been here too long, although long enough to have changed a couple of times, wether he ran away from home or not, it still felt quite lonely changing without his family around him. he didn't enjoy admitting it, even to himself, but he missed them the most during the full moon, absently he wondered if it was true that his brother would be coming to the camp soon. it had been a passing comment made by his mother during one of their, now, rare but increasingly awkward telephone conversations. gray wasn't sure how he would feel if his brother did turn up, naturally he loved his brother but he hadn't spoken to him once since he'd left, and most of all grayson feared their relationship would be strained.
grayson sighed and stood up from his secluded little spot, stretching widely, lank arms reaching for the sky. he let the drop to his sides, looking at the canopy of trees overheard, trying to determine if it was still sunny - there were spots of light streaming through but it wasn't clear if it was blues skies or cloudy. absently grayson started to make his way further into the trees, towards his favourite little clearing. he enjoyed spending his alone time there, mostly because he could talk out loud without getting strange looks or censoring his words. now when it came to bad language grayson was generally quite good, he didn't use profanity unless he was extremely agitated or upset, or as was more often the case, humiliated. if there was one thing grayson simply couldn't handle, it was embarrassment. it was why he ran away from home after all. despite what he, and a lot of other people, though about him grayson was quite capable. he thought it cowardly of him to run away from his parents, and spiteful, but it was a means of escape, he had found somewhere to stay without their help - not only somewhere functional and stable but with some of the nicest people he'd met to date. people who understood him, and even if he did have to change by himself he was still content knowing that he was safe here, the tension in the outside world was building. perhaps not against him in particular because, as far as he knew, no humans were aware that he was a werewolf - and even if he'd told them he was sure they would just point and laugh. he didn't look like much of a wolf, not until you saw him on a full moon at least.
grayson had reached the clearing now, birds singing to one another in their nests in the branches. as he came out of tree cover he realised it had been raining, clouds hung low overhead, dark grey and threatening to spill once more. grayson didn't mind the rain, though he was by no means enamoured with it. getting wet was not an issue to him, so even though it looked like another shower was inevitable he sat on the wet ground, legs crossed and ignoring the feeling of the water seeping through his jeans. such were the lengths grayson mcalester went to just for a little time on his own. he had a jacket with him, previously slung over his arm, he now laid it on the ground - balling it up to create a pillow. he laid down, the back of his t-shirt going damp within moments, he paid this no heed, enjoying the cooling sensation on his skin. you might have heard that werewolves run a few degrees hotter than most, twilight and true blood were not lying, although it was perhaps not as drastic a change as they speculated. grayson lay on his back, using his forearm for extra support behind his head, he didn't want every article of clothing he wore to be wet and resisted laying the full weight of his head against his jacket. this was nice, he supposed, grayson was a quiet boy who liked time to himself, ever since he'd come here he'd been bombarded by enthusiastic females, his two best friends were such girls and although he loved them dearly he did like the quiet. still, here he was with nothing but quiet surrounding him and all he wanted was to be with evan...and may too, obviously. he didn't want to seem like be favored evan just because he was carrying a serious torch for her. but shh, he wasn't even willing to say that out loud right now, and the thought of evan - let alone anyone else - finding out was enough to make his cheeks turn pink right now. oh no, he didn't need her teasing him about it, strange how he assumed that's what she would do though. it was either that or laugh, and to be quite honest if he came down between the two then he'd take the former.
status omfg done, whuut ! outfit sexonastick. words none rn. credits banner by balls to that ! of caution 2.0. notes for evan & i repeat myself a bit, i'm sorry? o.o

OH THE WHOLE WORLD TOLD ME I SHOULD , DISAPPEAR BECAUSE I'M FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU. When it rained, Evan didn’t like to fly. That was why she kind of hated summers here at the camp; if it wasn’t raining, the situation was either that there was a good chance that it would, or it was night, and therefore almost too dark for Evan to see that high up. It wasn’t that Evan couldn’t fly in the rain, she just didn’t like the feeling of the cold water pelting her whole body, feathers or not. It wasn’t pleasant to her. Quite frankly, it sucked trying to get all of the shit that would end up in her hair because of how wet it was when she landed and shifted back. Besides, Evan kind of liked the feeling of wet clothing more than she did just plain out wet skin. She wasn’t quite sure of that one, but whatever the reason, it was how Evan lived. Which was part of the reason Evan was walking around, instead of in the air circling the camp grounds, looking for something interesting from her personal bird’s eye view. Her body almost itched to shift, but she kept the urge under a heavy blanket of sorts, reminding herself that it was supposed to pour eventually.
While she could have been with anyone, it wasn’t what she wanted. No matter how many times Evan had tired to distract her self and hope that she would stop trying to feel the way she did about Grayson, nothing worked. She’d tried telling her ‘secret’ to May, hoping that even though Morgan Byrd was both hers and Grayson’s friend, she’d keep her mouth closed (and so far, so good as far as Evan knew). She’d tried going on an ‘adventure’ with Sean for a little while, exploring for things that might distract her from even the smallest amount of time. She didn’t want to accidentally blurt out that she was kind of in love with her best friend. Not that he didn’t deserve love or deserve to be loved and adored…because quite honestly Evan knew he did. She just wasn’t so sure she was the person he deserved……although that sounded wrong. It was more that he wasn’t what she deserved. If you asked Evan, Grayson was the type of guy that deserved so much more than he was handed, than he took, and he was worth so much more than anything Evan could ever give him. So she’d taken to almost avoiding Grayson completely, without really meaning to do that, in order to keep her mind from it all. The last thing she wanted was for the whole thing to come pouring out of her big ol’ mouth, because God only knew what would happen then.
So of course, Evan wanted to get out. Her friends were all busy as far as she knew; May had some nursing stuff to do; Sean was just as popular around camp as Evan was and probably had some other plans with someone else; Ash had Paris, who he seemed to be really, really into, unless Evan was just too blind to see any further than that. She was alone, save for the company of her cat, Oddball Twix. Sadly, her cat was sleeping, soundly at that, making it impossible for Evan to even think of intruding. Oddball was quite the cranky puss when she was tired, much like Evan sometimes could be. But being alone gave her time to get into her head, and so that just lead back to thoughts of fighting flight. If she flew, she’d be focused on what’s in front of her, not on trying to keep her secret to herself. Since it was starting to rain, Evan was grounded. She had to keep her feet in their confines, her arms had to stay featherless, and her face had to be cooled by the breeze, not her pushing against the wind. The forest would be the best place for her to distract herself from all of the things she didn’t want to think about.
Consequently, it wasn’t just Evan’s thinking space. The space around the camp wasn’t just for Evan. It was free range, free claim and under that ‘first come, first serve’ type of deal that Evan didn’t always agree with. Though she liked to come out and think in the forest, so did every one else. That was only a fraction of the reason Evan even thought about getting the diary she owned now (other reasons were that of not trusting herself with the secrets she held and the fact that she didn’t want to speak about her family outwardly when she was in one of those moods that some called simply ‘homesick’). She could think out loud in the forest, yes, but only when she was sure no one was around. In her diary, she could say whatever she wanted without worrying about too many people seeing what she put down. And thus, she was grateful for the diary, especially now.
She pushed her way through the trees and vegetation around Camp Brook and unexpectedly found peace, only to have it disturbed by a few rain drops falling straight on to her face. Everything was so alive in the forest, especially the body on the ground. Wait, a body? Evan looked further ahead of her, trying to make out of the body she was seeing was alive or not. That little sense of dead or alive that being part vulture gave her told Evan’s head that the body was very well living. And the smell was familiar; the smell she was savouring now was one she was mentally trying to avoid. That smell was one that would make her spill her guts because it belonged to none other than Grayson. Thoughts quickly flooded her brain with things she could say to him, all of which would never really pass her lips so long as Evan had anything to say about it. But she couldn’t help but get closer; she hadn’t seen Grayson in she couldn’t even remember how long, and the urge to be around him just kept growing stronger every time she even so much as thought of the first syllable of his name. It was weird for her to feel this way about anyone, but she didn’t care too much.
She moved closer because her feet were like magnets now, but the only thing on Evan Torres’s mind was the thought of laughing and smiling and being with Grayson. She didn’t have anything to hide because Grayson was her best friend. That thought rang truest just as she pushed to stand just over him, smiling at the fact that he was laying on the wet ground and starring up. Typical Grayson; Evan wouldn’t want him any other way. “Hey Gray. Mind if I join you?” Even if he did, Evan was going to sit down like she did just then, and she was going to spend time with him. He was the only one she wanted to do such an activity with anyway. “I feel like it’s been forever since we’ve ya’ know….hung out. I missed you,
” which was enough of the truth for her not to be spilling the big secret, thankfully. Evan wasn’t sure she wanted to know what would happen if she let the fact that she pretty much loved Grayson slip through her lips right in front of Grayson him self. 1,236 - BBEE/GRAYSON! <3 - um so lyrics are from burn the night away from there for tomorrow because i love that song. and i love you. and i love this <3 banner made by SAFA! <3[/blockquote][/blockquote]
