I can be myself now finally , in fact theres nothing I can't be I want the world to see , anders couldn't forget the first moment he'd met cindy and she'd been playing on his mind since the moment he'd set eyes on the small, half tiger female. that evening he had decided to teach her to swim and he was praying he could at least help her. she'd been so kind to him, even letting her fur grow to shake hands with him, and he wanted to repay her. pulling his shorts on, he ran a hand through his floppy blond hair and look ed at the clock. it was almost ten, and he said he'd pick cindy up from her cabin at ten. he didn't want to be late, it'd look awful if he was late for their first date. well, was it a date? he didn't know. he'd not dated anyone in years - literally, he'd only been courting a girl when he was bitten, and after that it hadn't even crossed his mind. no, he'd slept with some people, but it was rare.. especially with what happened to cedes. no, afte rhe'd turned her he hadn't touched a human again.. but cindy was different. grumbling to himself he grabbed a towel and slid out of the cabin, his flip flops on his feet as he made his way towards her cabin. he was nervous, and should he have had a working heart it would've been pumping loudly in his chest and the rate would've risen. of course, being a vampire he had no heartbeat, and at times like this he felt so very glad. he breathed out heavily as he reached the front door to the cabin, throwing his towel over his shoulder and rubbing the back of his neck nervously. lifting his hand to the wooden door he wrapped loudly on it, knowing full well that none of them would be asleep.
and then he waited, so patiently stood on the wooden porch of the cabin, chewing his lips so furiously he'd sure he would puncture it. he was horrendously nervous. it wasn't even a date! she wasn't interested, and even if she was, he couldn't do anything about it - he wasn't going to risk making another girl into a vampire and bringing her into the hell that was his life. as the door creaked open, anders waved consciously, a grin on his lips as he looked towards the small female who'd opened it. she made him awkward, and smile, two things evander was not. "swimming lesson still on?", he asked brightly, shoving his hands into his shorts pockets. if they were in his pockets, he couldn't do anything stupid with them. he was frustrated with himself, doing stupid things and saying stupid things around this girl. he'd known her a few weeks and yet he could find himself pining for her. he hated it, he couldn't do it, and it crushed him. "I don't know how cold it is.. I mean, no temperature and stuff", he gave a half hearted smile, lifting his hands out of his pockets and making wide hands, spreading his fingers out as if to illustrate to her. it was true, the only temperature he could feel was blistering heat when he went into direct sunlight, and he hadn't done that in decades because he knew how painful it was - to him, it was neutral, like beige, when it could've been minus forty and he couldn't have noticed.
"if we're quick, by the time we get down there we'll have missed all the guards, so we won't have to sneak around", he told her, folding his arms across his broad chest. around cindy he was very aware of himself and his body, how he positioned himself and, particularly, what he did with his hands. almost as soon as he'd crossed his arms he dropped them to his sides, knowing it'd look very defensive across his chest. smiling softly, he cleared his throat. "so… want a piggy back?", his face lit up as a grin was painted across his lips, exposing his white teeth. his fangs were away, not evident unless he made them so, and he looked, for one, genuinely happy. "you'll have to carry my towel though", he teased. he hadn't teased in years. in fact, he hadn't felt like this.. ever, actually. it was new, and he felt light, as if he'd been pulled up on a puppet string and, for once, was standing tall. proud.

come on, come on, turn a little faster the world will follow aftercome on, come on, because everybody's after love No matter what people said to Cindy about big cats actually liking water, she still remained steadfast in the opinion that cats and water weren’t the best mix. She had never learnt to swim and she had never gone near the ocean as a child. Her and water only ever mixed when she drinking it or washing with it. She couldn’t even float in water, so the fact that she had now agreed to be taught how to swim was slightly astounding. Cindy didn’t even own a swimming costume! In the end she’d asked Dell if she could borrow one of hers – Dell was about her size – and was now looking at the little bikini on her bed with a mix of excitement and horror. There wasn’t very much of it, but maybe it would look nice on her. She wasn’t fat after all... But then maybe Anders would think she was inappropriate for wearing so little. Cindy rolled her eyes and tutted her own thoughts – Anders wouldn’t care what she wearing; they were friends. He wasn’t about to judge her on the fact the only swimming costume Dell could give her was teeny tiny. To be safe however, Cindy put a skirt on over the bikini to cover herself up a little. If she could gather the courage to get into the water then she would take the skirt off and Anders wouldn’t be subjected to her legs anyway because they were underwater.
After actually changing Cindy had very little to do. She felt uncharacteristically nervous. This led to her brushing her hair again and putting it up in a high ponytail so that it wouldn’t get too wet and then filing her nails again. Her misery wasn’t prolonged for too long however as a knock soon came from the door. No one else would be knocking so late so it had to be Anders here to pick her up. Cindy threw her towel across her shoulders and slipped on her shoes before skipping over to the door – luckily no one else was in the cabin to look at her weirdly. After opening the door Cindy grinned at the vampire in front of her. `Hello you!’ she said happily, skipping out of the cabin and shutting the door behind her. `Of course it’s still on after the effort I went to in order to find swimming stuff.’
she replied with a grin, her ponytail bobbing on the back of her hair and making her hair flick around. Piggy back? Cindy’s eyes visible lit up, her grin stretching even wider. `Yesyesyesyesyes!’ she laughed, taking his towel out of his hand and putting it over her shoulders on top of her own. `Turn around!’ Cindy giggled, motioning with her hands so that she could jump up onto Anders’ back. As soon as he was ready she jumped up and hooked her little legs around his hips and looped her arms around his neck. Cindy gave him a little squeeze, feeling a little bit like she was hugging an ice cube, but it didn’t matter because it was actually Anders. `Gogogo, or I’ll mess with your hair.’ Cindy teased, blowing his hair all over the place. She pressed her face into his hair and breathed in, squeezing him again to try and make him move, while absorbing the smell of his shampoo, or maybe just the smell of him. When he started moving Cindy could feel all of his muscles rippling and moving as they sped through camp. She resisted the urge to squeal happily and settled with giggling quietly into Anders hair. The thrill of being sneaky far outweighed Cindy’s fear for what she was about to face. In all honesty, she was only agreeing to this because she knew Anders wouldn’t let her drown. She trusted him to not upset her if she got too scared and trusted that he wouldn’t tease her too much if she swam like a dog or something. Within a couple of minutes she was put back on the floor again and smiled at Anders, slightly uneasy now that she could smell the chlorine of the pool. Cindy forced herself to swallow and waited for Anders to get into the pool. For the first time she looked at him and realised he was actually a lot bigger than her and looked a lot stronger and far more confident than her. `I think the last time I went in a swimming pool... I was five. My nan had to help me out because I started screaming...’ she mumbled, staring at the water. It wasn’t exactly the safest looking place to her. The ripples from the filters made the ground of the pool look far away and unstable. Cindy sat at the edge of the pool and slipped her shoes off. She didn’t, however, put her feet in the water. Once her shoes and the towels were sat at the edge of the pool she looked up at Anders again and bit her lip before looking at the pool again. `You promise I won’t drown?’ words eight four eight outfit hurr.lyrics counting crows - accidentally in love layout meeee, photo from around the place. tag andypandy. listening to new day - tamar. comments ohhh yay >) lots of godmodding, sorry, just fastforwarding the boring bits. x:[/blockquote][/blockquote]

I knew I wouldn't forget you , and so I went and let you blow my mind , every time his eyes caught with cindy's, he felt nervous. her face was engraved into his mind, every inch of her burnt into his memory. fireworks collided in his mind as he watched her face light up, eyes sparkling to beautifully in the dull night evening light, her soft lips bursting into a smile, a smile that could've kept entire countries lit up. he grinned back as she asked him to turn around, immediately doing as he was told and bending slightly. she was considerably smaller than him and, although she was meant to be a good tree climber, he worried she wouldn't be able to jump quite high enough. but she did and he felt her slender legs wrap around his waist, her arms around his neck as he breathed in her smell. sweet, soft and summery. anders was sensitive to sweet smells, but hers wasn't painful, it was gentle and comforting. he smiled gently, chewing on his bottom lip so thoughtfully as he began to walk. "I'd hate to have poofy hair", he rolled his eyes as she blew into the back of his neck, it sending shivers down his spine. "hey, hey! I'm going, okay, princess? jeez.. so impatient", he teased, jumping her up slightly as he laughed, spinning in a circle quickly before wandering onwards. she was incredibly light, so light that anders could spin round and round without falling over. squeezing him gently, he laughed and began to speed through the campsite, his agility coming into play as he dodged through buildings and over old tree stumps, running as fast as she his legs would carry the two of them.
as he skidded up to the pool, dust flew around his ankles and he stumbled slightly, coming to a hault just short of the clear blue waters of the pool. "final stop, the pool, all alight here", he mimicked the voice he had heard so often inside trains when he'd been in England. carefully, he let cindy slide off his back and onto the floor, turning to face her and grabbing his towel from around her shoulders, swinging it around his neck as he smiled gently towards her. he was silent for a moment, eyeing cindy carefully. she was nervous, he could feel her fear, smell it almost on her. he wanted her to be confidant, almost how he was around water. he had had years to practise, of course. smiling widely, ignoring her nerves, he spoke, "I'll be jumping in first then?". laughing he wandered to the edge of the pool and kicked his flip flops off, tossing his towel in a pile and slipping his t-shirt off, kicking it into the pile with the rest of his things. knowing full well that she wasn't going to be as eager as him, he dived in, his belly sliding gently against the bottom of the pool as he burst up in the water, running a hand through his wet, blond locks. "I'll keep you safe", he smiled tenderly, wading back up towards cindy, "I promise", he nodded. he listened to her speak, the idea of a tiny baby cindy screaming and yelping in the water made him uneasy. in fact, the idea of anyone being young made him uneasy - he hadn't been for so long he almost forgot what it was like.
as she looked at him he nodded silently, all smiles from his face and only truth left. he didn't want to upset her - in fact that really was the last thing he wanted to do. as he held out a hand to cindy, he noticed he was trembling slightly. and it hit him, slowly but surely he knew very well that he was falling quite evidently head over heels in love with the petite female sat in front of him. he hadn't considered a person in quite the same way for a long time, and in fact he had never before offered himself up so truthfully. he bit the inside of his cheek, ignoring his thoughts that were now whizzing mindlessly in his brain, his eyes locked onto cindy's. "I'd never let anything happen to you", he blurted out quietly, moving towards her in the water, now barely a foot from the pale female. gazing into her eyes he felt himself move closer yet again but stopped himself, clearing his throat loudly. "your feet will touch the bottom here.. I swear", he smiled again, the silence ever so overwhelming for anders, now very aware of his feelings and every thing he did. his gestures, the way he looked at her, even the choice of words seemed so important to anders now, his hand still outstretched to cindy, waiting and hoping she'd take it.
