HISTORY;[/b] "i was born in texas; houston to be exact. it's a little area i was in, where everyone knows everyone else and we're all close. i miss it terribly. but anyway, i lived on a farm, working and stuff. going to school was easy; i passed all my ap classes, and easily made it out of there. my home life wasn't hard, so i can't really say anything about that. my farm is my home, and means more to mean then anything, as does my family. nobody realized what i really was.
my daddy was always overprotective, but i loved him for it. he was basically the big bald dad every guy was afraid of, but it was okay, because i love him. he showed my a lot, and how to get away from bad guys. hehe. i was basically the girl that the guys at school wanted, but i was basically off limits. a lot of guys tried to get in my pants, if that's what y'all say, and basically i got screwed over a lot. it kind of sucked. oh, well.
anyway, i started to grow, and took an interest in more in swimming, and finally realized what my parents were talking about. both are naiads, mind you, and tried to tell me all along when i was trying to 'rebel' that i'd find my place. i truly did, one morning at school. i skipped one of my classes for the first time, and went to our pool. i dipped my feet in, and just ended up sinking into the water slowly, clothes and all. it was the most magical experience ever. RPING SAMPLE;"Carlie danced around her fathers office, finding herself distracted from the work she was supposed to be doing. She usually tended to get easily distracted by little things, but sometimes it got quite out of hand. She was just like a little girl, her little feet padding across the ground as she danced, and quietly sang the words to a well known song. "I don't want to miss a single thing you do, tonight." She felt one with the music, closing her eyes and completely forgetting about the murder trial records she was supposed to be focused on. As her father's intern, she worked with him on most cases, and he had personally picked her for this one. He called it her make or break case, which could be a good or a bad thing. It was the biggest one she had done, none the less, and she worried more often then not about it. So relaxing and dancing was a slight getaway for her, losing herself into the music and letting her body move to the words of the song. She had always wanted to be a lawyer. Her whole entire life. It was the one thing she had always wanted to be, and she never considered anything else. It was her parents profession, and she assumed it would be hers too. All she wanted was to please her parents.
Which was why when one boy came to her mind, a frown spread across her face. He was absolutely her favorite, and she loved him to death, but he wasn't approved by her parents. They didn't like him one bit, just because he wasn't extremely rich like them. Just because he didn't fit into their social status. Her parents were big on that sort of stuff, monitoring where she went and who she was with constantly, for they didn't want their reputation ruined. Carlie didn't understand it of course, but she didn't let it get to her. She tended to bend those rules, as you'd find her at the Austyn residence more often then not. She would sneak out, lie, or pretty much do anything to get herself to their house. She was pretty much always there also, becoming part of the family. She wouldn't mind wedging her way into the family, either. She loved everyone in it, especially one person. She found her mind wandering from just the family, to Kasey. Kasey Alexander Austyn. She thought about him a lot, especially now that he had been away at school. Even with him gone, she'd go over to the house, and ask about him, call him, and be there to welcome him home. She closed her eyes and smiled, before throwing herself up, remembering something quite important.
She started quickly gathering her stuff, throwing things into her purse one by one, before just shoving everything in. "DAD! I'll see you at home!" Her high, child like voice rang across the office, and she quickly ran out the door. She didn't even try to be sneaky, because she knew it wouldn't do anything. Her rush was obvious, but she hoped her father wouldn't notice. She unlocked her Lexus quickly, jamming her finger into the start engine button, and booking it out of the parking lot. She was worried she'd be late. Looking at the clock, she realized she already was. She had been so looking forward to being one of the first people to greet Kasey when he got home, but now she was probably going to be the last. She couldn't stand driving when she was anxious either, so the usually quick ten minute ride felt like hours upon hours. With her eyes wide, and her little foot on the gas pedal, Carlie managed to make it back to her house in half the time. Then again, house wasn't the right word for the place that the Mitchell's lived. Mansion, castle, along those lines. People tended to find her place like a castle, for the large exterior radiated elegance. As did the interior. With large rooms, unnecessary furniture, and housemaids beyond belief, people tended to automatically make assumptions about Carlie's lifestyle. She wasn't anything like anyone said though. She was quiet, and quite antisocial. It wasn't because of anything that had happened in her past, or anything like that. It was simply because she was scared. She was scared of many things, and people were definitely one of the things she was terrified of. She found herself not talking to most people, and when other people were around, she'd awkwardly pop into the conversation, before ending up slipping out of it quickly. She was different around her close friends though. People like Kasey brought out another side of her, a side with smiles and a new Carlie.
Her body moved with a quiet elegance that was barely noticed, making its way through the front door of her house, and slipping up the stairs. She took them two at a time, rushing quite a bit. She didn't want to be late at all, which she already was. She was ecstatic beyond belief to see Kasey again, for the first time in she didn't even know how long. He was like the better half of her, and could easily be called her best friend. She adored him, and would do absolutely anything for him. She tended to get carried away with doing stuff for him, though. She would go out of her way to make him happy, and find herself doing things she shouldn't. Sneaking out, for example. Carlie would never sneak out to do anything, much less see a boy. With Kasey, it was different. She'd sneak out every night, get caught, and keep doing it for that boy. She just loved the way he could always make her smile and laugh, and the way that she could simply think about him, and smile. He was basically like her rock, keeping her grounded from the outside world, from the crazy life of her lawyer parents. She was grateful every day for him, and for the joy he brought her. She couldn't believe that she was lucky enough to have known him for her whole life, also. Her fingers found their way to her stereo, and she turned it up loudly, and danced around her room, finding herself putting on a little extra makeup, doing her hair a little longer. She tried not to think about it as much, but she knew she wanted to look good for him. She had to.
"She's got my heart tied in a knot and my stomach in a whirl." She couldn't help singing along to the familiar voice of one of her favorite musicians, and she felt her body start moving along to the music. She tended to get way carried away with music, any day she could be found moving her hips along to pretty much any song. This little girl was a dancer, classically trained in ballet, but she basically just did her own thing. She would never let anyone see her actually dancing, only joking around. As the song shuffled to the next, a simple ballad, she found herself moving in a familiar, graceful motion. She laughed to herself, letting her body fall onto her round bed, and covering her face with her hands. She was embarrassed of how carried away she had gotten, and got up quickly to finish getting ready. Her eyes bounced from the mirror to the clock, a little gasp coming from her mouth. It was late, too late. Time almost slowed down as she started worrying, finding herself over thinking tonight much. To much. She thought about what he'd think when he saw her, how he'd react. What would he tell her? Had he found someone at school that he liked? Their relationship was quite open, so they could talk to each other about those sort of little things. She hated when he told her stuff like that. It killed her hearing about him liking someone else. She wanted him to like her.
She was quite the jealous little girl, for someone who was so reserved. She found herself wondering things, things she didn't understand. Things were different, especially with her mind on him. She wondered why she wasn't good enough for him to like her, why wasn't she good enough for him to be in love with her. She wondered what she could do, the little things that'd make him smile. Could she spend a few extra minutes on her hair, maybe put on a bit more makeup? Was she just not pretty enough, or not girly enough? Carlie thought she was okay, but just thinking about why he wouldn't like her made her think less of herself. There was nothing wrong with Kasey, but everything, every bicker, was Carlie's fault. She couldn't help being so self conscious when it cam to him. She had never been that way around him before though. She had pretty much grown up with him, even though they hadn't even been nearly as close as this, and the sudden, deep friendship worried her. She wanted more then friendship. She wanted to call him hers, she wanted him to hold her when she was scared. She wanted all those little love notes, and the long nights of movies and kissing. She was so naive to those things though, and didn't know what was to much, or to little.
She shook her head, trying to rid her mind of him, and got up quietly, slipping her body out of her room and doubling back for her keys. She couldn't forget those, could she? With a giggle to herself, she tried to forget about how imperfect she was. More so how imperfect for him she was. With her tiny feet barely making a sound, she snuck past her parents room, and made her way to the door. She opened it slowly, trying to be as quiet as possible. The loud creak that came from the door made her wince, and she slipped out and closed it as slowly as she could. Running straight for her car, Carlie started it up and shook her head. She felt so rebellious, and didn't like it one bit. She never did bad things like this, but this one time it was only for Kasey. She started up the car, and smiled as she pulled out of the long driveway, going much faster then needed. She worried about what her parents would think if they found out what she did behind their backs. Going against everything they wanted, seeing a boy they didn't want her to even be associated with. She was heartbroken she had to hurt them. But for Kasey, she'd do everything he wanted and more.
Clicking on the touch screen in her car, she set the bluetooth to call him, and smiled. "Kasey. I'm on my way." She kept it as simple as that, before hanging up and giggling. She pulled up to the familiar house, that she had been known to call her second home. It was much smaller, cozier then hers. She loved it, it was basically her favorite place to be. She opened the car door, sliding out slowly, and closing it. She tried not to rush now, fearing he'd think of her as crazy. She smiled to herself at the thought, and knocked on the door. She knew where the spare key was, so she could easily open the door if she wanted to, but she decided to go old fashioned. Her grin widened at the older woman who answered the door, basically her second favorite person on the planet. Mrs. Austyn was basically like her second mother, and she constantly joked with Kasey about how his mother loved her more. She sometimes believed it to be true. Wrapping her arms around her, Carlie smiled at Mrs. Austyn. "Kasey's home?" She smiled, not able to contain her excitement. His mother knew of Carlie's little school girl crush on Kasey, and hid it better then Carlie herself did. She ran into Kasey's room quickly, flinging open the door. "HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME." She squealed, and threw herself onto the boy who was so much larger then her. She had always loved him, and had some seriousness behind her statement. She didn't want him to leave her like that ever again, even though she knew he had to. Smiling and shaking her head, she held onto him. "I missed you, Kasey!" Her words came out quietly, almost shaken. She missed him more then he'd ever know."
